Copper River gillnetter fleet
Copper River gillnetter fleet returning to Cordova from the first opener of the 2015 Alaska salmon fishing season. They are bringing to market the famous Copper River Kings (a.k.a. Chinook Salmon, Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) and Copper River Reds (a.k.a. Sockeye Salmon, O. nerka), the first salmon of the season. In the distance are the large islands that separate Prince William Sound from the Pacific Ocean, Hinchinbrook and Montague Islands.
